Empowered Women's Journey - Exploring Cuban Culture, Entrepreneurship, and the Arts

Immerse yourself in the world of Cuban women as you connect with inspiring women who will share their stories, talents, and expertise, unveiling the diverse and vibrant aspects of everyday life in Cuba.

Day 1 - Havana: Welcome to the Heart of Cuba

Arrive at Havana's José Martí International Airport and settle into your cozy "casa particular" (BnB). With the help of a professional mixologist, prepare your own cocktail or mocktail. Take a classic 1950s American car ride along the Malecon, discovering Havana's vibrant neighborhoods and iconic sights of the city, including the Capitol, Revolution Square, Havana’s Forest, colonial mansions along Fifth Avenue, and the Morro Castle. Enjoy a welcome dinner at Paladar Atelier, owned by Niuris Higueras, a significant contributor to the improvement of US-Cuba relations.

Day 2 - Havana: A Day of Cultural Immersion

Join your local guide as you explore the Historic Center of Old Havana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982. Marvel at the rich history and majestic architecture of this city while making stops at various local businesses where you will meet their owners and learn about their experiences operating in the relatively new Cuban private sector. Discover the genuine Afro-Cuban culture with Beyond Roots as you delve into Afro-Cuban religions, savor traditional Afro-Cuban cuisine, and listen to the rhythms of Afro-Cuban music.

Day 3 - Havana: Food and Drink

Venture off the typical tourist routes with your guide to discover the charms of San Lazaro and Vedado's streets, savoring a variety of flavors as you go. Stop by food stands, Cuban markets, and discover some of the city's hidden culinary treasures. The tour culminates with a delightful lunch at the home of your guide and his family, where you'll be treated to authentic Cuban dishes and beverages in an intimate setting. Discover the secrets of the rum-making process. With the guidance of a rum distiller, you'll have the chance to craft your very own unique product, complete with your personalized label to enjoy while in Havana.

Day 4 - Viñales: A Scenic Getaway

Embark on a day trip to the stunning Viñales Valley, renowned for its tobacco farms. Visit an organic farm to learn about coffee, rum, and cigars, followed by a farm-to-table lunch with picturesque valley views. Choose between hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding through the valley.

Day 5 - Havana: Sun and Art

Experience Playa El Salado, where you can dive or snorkel and get expert insights from local marine specialists on the coral reef's well-being and the community's efforts to protect them. Discover the Taller Experimental de Gráfica. Known for its printmaking and lithography, the taller serves as a studio, a school, and art institution dedicated to nurturing and evolving the intricate craft of printmaking while fostering creative expression. Guided by a resident artist, you will create your very own artwork, which you can take home as a special memory of your visit.

Day 6 - Havana: Farewell with a View

Your Cuban journey concludes with a scrumptious rooftop brunch overlooking the Malecon seawall. After brunch, prepare for your departure from Havana.
